A culture of trust
At Sako, trust is the foundation of everything we do. We want to build a work community where the wellbeing, competence and safety of our personnel play a central role and where everyone has the opportunity to succeed and develop in their work.
We believe that a motivated and skilled workforce, together with a supportive and safe working environment, are the foundation of high-quality work. That is why we continuously develop leadership, support the growth of competence and invest in practices that promote wellbeing at work.

Leadership
At Sako, leadership and supervisory work are developed with clear intent. Our leadership is guided by our Leadership Focus principles, which our supervisors have actively helped to create. Involving supervisors in this development work has strengthened our shared understanding of people leadership. Our goal is to create a workplace where open communication and continuous development are at the core of everything we do. We want every employee to feel important and valued as part of a diverse work community where we learn from one another.

Developing competence
Competence is one of Sako’s most important competitive strengths and a central part of our culture. We believe that the development of our personnel also strengthens our company’s ability to renew itself and succeed.
We encourage our employees to broaden their competence and to seize new opportunities within our organisation. Varied tasks, challenging projects and new technologies offer opportunities to learn new things and grow as a professional. We want to create a working environment where competence is valued, shared and continuously developed.

SAKO Leader – towards strong, effective and consistent supervisory work
Strong supervisory work is an important part of Sako’s sustainable growth and a good working day. We develop leadership over the long term so that our supervisors have a shared direction and the capabilities to support personnel in succeeding and developing in their work.
The SAKO Leader development programme, launched in May 2026, strengthens supervisory work especially through learning in everyday work – by experimenting, reflecting and sparring together. Our shared leadership culture and supervisory work are guided by SAKO’s Leadership Focus, which brings together the key principles of our leadership.
Benefits
Our goal is for every Sako employee to feel well and to succeed in their work. A smooth, safe everyday routine together with consistent and supportive leadership are key to making this happen. On top of these, we want to support our employees’ wellbeing with our comprehensive benefits:

Health and wellbeing
We provide extensive occupational healthcare and regular health checks, as well as a sickness fund that brings security and extra benefits to everyday life. We support our employees’ wellbeing with low-threshold mental wellbeing services and physiotherapy. A proactive approach matters to us: we ensure safe working conditions through assessments and measurements. Wellbeing and coping at work are also part of regular discussions with your supervisor.

Sports and culture
We support your wellbeing with the ePassi sports, culture and wellbeing benefit and by encouraging an active everyday life with workplace exercise equipment for breaks. A sense of community is close to our hearts, and it shows in our participation in popular events such as the Finlandia Ski Marathon and the Riihimäki Outdoor Fair. With us you become part of a group that values an active lifestyle.

Hobby and product benefits
We offer comprehensive staff benefits on our own products as well as on Beretta’s wide range of equipment. In addition, members of Sako’s shooting club have the right to borrow firearms.

Rewards
Our reward systems are based on the demands of the role, competence and performance. Our aim is to reward our personnel fairly and to encourage continuous development and good results.
Clerical employees, senior clerical employees and management are covered by an annual bonus scheme, in which rewards are based on achieving the targets of the company, the unit and the individual.
Employees in the factories’ production and production-supporting roles are encouraged with a production bonus paid monthly. The production bonus is based on achieving targets related to the factories’ performance, quality and safety.
In addition, employees are rewarded for developing their competence through a separate competence allowance, which rewards broadening and deepening professional skills.
2025 EMPLOYEE SURVEY RESULTS

Our people are happier than ever
The 2025 employee survey showed that satisfaction among Sako employees improved significantly across all areas. As many as 73% of staff responded, and the overall average rose to an excellent 4.72 (2023: 4.39).
We saw particularly strong results in occupational safety, acting in line with our values and supervisory work. The eNPS score, which measures employees’ willingness to recommend us, also rose to 16, which is a notable improvement on previous years. Although the results are excellent, we also identified areas to develop: going forward we will focus especially on improving the flow of internal information.
Open positions
We offer varied work in a range of specialist roles, such as marketing, sales, product development, design, production development and supervisory work. Our most typical production roles include a variety of machining and operator tasks, finishing and assembly work, and packing.
